There's something beautiful about this season of your life, the excitement, the planning, the quiet moments when it's just the two of you. An engagement session isn't just about pretty photos (though we'll definitely capture those), but about celebrating where you are right now, before the whirlwind of the wedding day.
My name is Nicole, founder and owner of Filmica Studio, and I believe engagement sessions should feel less like a formal photoshoot and more like an adventure with your favorite person. My approach is all about guiding you gently, capturing genuine laughter and those small, loving glances you give each other when you think no one's watching.
What to Expect
Every session is different because every couple is different. Some of you will be naturals in front of the camera, while others might feel a little awkward at first (which is totally normal!). Either way, I'll be there to help you.
We'll typically spend about an hour exploring your chosen location, chasing golden light, and finding those perfect in-between moments. I love it when couples bring a second outfit or when we move between a couple of spots nearby. We could start in a field and end at a coffee shop, if that means something to you. These little details make your session uniquely yours.

Filmica Studio is based in Ocala, Florida, but I also do engagement photos in Gainesville, FL; Orlando, FL; Jacksonville, FL; Tampa, FL, and more. Personally, I'm drawn to natural settings with beautiful light: think Spanish moss and quiet trails, downtown streets at dusk, or anywhere the two of you feel most like yourselves.

Most sessions last about one hour, giving us plenty of time for multiple settings and outfit changes. Longer sessions are available upon request if you'd like to explore more locations.

I recommend outfits that make you feel comfortable and confident because when you feel good, it shows in the photos! Soft neutrals and textures photograph beautifully and tend to be timeless. Since Florida can get hot and humid, especially in the warmer months, choose breathable fabrics and consider bringing layers you can adjust throughout the session. We can talk about styling specifics before our session if it helps!
